Are You Making a Safe Choice When You Buy a Toyota in NJ?
Looking to buy a Toyota in NJ but concerned about the company? The massive earthquake and subsequent tsunami that crippled Japan in March has affected their economy drastically. The United States has seen some affects as well in the production of certain industries, automobiles being one of the most notable.
If you are looking to invest in a Toyota in NJ, should you be concerned about production issues in Japan? Honestly, it depends. There are several issues with production: Some plants in Japan were closer to the devastation than others; some models are made there and some are not; some parts come from there and some do not. For instance, the Prius is made in Japan exclusively. With rising gas prices, Toyota had actually been selling more of them than ever prior to the earthquake. Sales have dropped recently due to concerns about the industry and less availability. However, there are many models of Toyota that are made in the U.S. and Canada. These have not been particularly affected by the situation in Japan. Also, the company is making every effort to get production back up to pre-tsunami standards.
Since most of the issues with the Toyotas had to do with production and exporting, if the car you want is already in the lot waiting for you when you visit your NJ Toyota dealer, you have nothing to worry about. Hopefully, for the sake of the Japanese economy, the Toyota Company will be back on track as soon as they have projected.
